Hello Dear Friends!
School is now completed their second week! So much has happened already with our first chapel's of the year at the high school, meeting our students, starting a routine, spending time with friends at a Chinese Moon Festival in Basel, beginning a Little House themed cooking class with Vinegar Pie (heehee), picturing the beauty of Kandern, and spending a wonderful birthday with dear friends eating Chinese food while listening to stories of bugs and snakes in Kenya (Rift Valley Academy)!! And it has only been two weeks!! Next week begins Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) which starts with a special chapel everyday. Our middle school students will be in element groups with high school students to reflect on talks given by our guest speaker. They are excited to mingle with high school students! Below, I have some snapshots of the past two weeks....Enjoy!
Eleanor and I are enjoying the Moon Festival in Basel!
Here is our first student-lead Chapel! Our theme this year is indwelling...More on that later:)
My students in cooking elective made Johnny Cakes, bacon and a Vinegar Pie today! The Johnny Cakes and bacon went fast! We will try the Vinegar Pie on Monday!! Want a taste???
Here is where I live!! In the bright yellow apartment building! Dorothy also lives here along with Collin Craven (The Secret Garden), and Mrs. Rochester (Jane Eyre)! It can be lively at times!
I was surprised on my birthday with men on bikes! They look good, don't they? I mean the bikes, of course!! ;)
And Eleanor and I went with another couple who drove us to a Chinese restaurant in a nearby town. The food was fabulous and we heard stories from former days at Rift Valley Academy that centered around bugs, snakes, young boys, and large animals that need their space!! Super fun evening!
