Saying Good-bye and Celebrating Connections

Our theme for this year has been indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. One of our verses for this year is from John 14:20, "In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you". In our middle school chapel's, we have been going through the fruits of the Spirit. Last Friday, we watched a short film from one of Rev. Billy Graham's messages along with short testimonies from three different people including a famous skateboarder. The real-to-life stories really touched our hearts and several students used some quiet time to pray afterwards.

After chapel, students meet up in the cafeteria to grab their backpacks, laugh, chat with friends before heading out to catch the bus for the middle school.

Yesterday, the high school and middle school met for a special chapel service that focused on God moving through the connections made at Black Forest Academy. Our high school chaplain, Mr. Nat Evans, shared some thoughts about saying good-bye well and celebrating, being thankful for the connections made. It is okay to express those emotions as we say good-bye to friendships made; not knowing if we will see some of those friends again in this lifetime. If not here, then in heaven where there will be no more tears, or sorrow, or pain. I have posted a few videos to share at the end so make sure to keep scrolling down!

Here is a small peak of a worship song from our middle school chapel last Friday!
Here are a few videos from chapel yesterday! This was the high school's last chapel for this school year and it is a tradition to be combined with the middle school. The worship leader encouraged jumping and dancing with this particular song and as you watch, notice that the middle school students are the only ones jumping and dancing right in front of the stage! Go middle school!
