Middle School Fall Party!

Our theme was Science Fiction and Fantasy and our mission? To have a great time and enjoy the creativity of our students! As a middle school tradition, the student leadership chooses a theme and the teachers secretly choose a theme within the theme to be revealed on fall party night! The theme chosen this year was inanimate objects within Sci-Fi or Fantasy tales! Ms. Custer was the wardrobe from Narnia, Ms. Bertschi was a tool from Dr. Who, Ms. Duvall was the police box from Dr. Who, and Ms. B? I don't remember! Any guesses? I am very lacking in my science fiction knowledge and vocabulary! I dressed up as the adopted sister of Jasmine, originally from Norway. Most believed my tale of being in two scenes in the movie, but easy to miss since the camera moved rather quickly. I guess middle school students and a few teachers can be gullible too!

Below, is the student and teacher photo of Dr. Who characters! The show is a popular one among our science and math nerds! Other students had fun dressing up as Harry Potter characters, Monsters Inc., fairy tale princesses, an excellent Princess Leia, two old men (not sure who they were supposed to be, but I stole their canes....twice!), and several more!

Everyone had a great time playing games in the gym, acting out small skits for the costume contest, dancing to "What does the Fox say?", and lots of silliness in between! This is an opportunity for our students to be creative, take a break from all their studying, and have fun with each other! As teachers, we love the chance to dress up ourselves (an excuse to be silly and young ourselves) and spend time with our students enjoying their adolescent years!
