Game Day: Math 7 students play games while learning math skills!

My math 7 students have been working very hard the last few weeks before Christmas break on their math games! They had the option of choosing to create a board game or card game, picking their own theme and a math topic from a list already provided. We spent two days playing our games and students had to evaluate three other games as part of their grade for the project. I am amazed at the creativity of my students as their games are designed for players enjoyment while learning math skills. I have included a few pictures and some videos for you to see our fun in action! Enjoy a peek into the math 7 classroom!

Here are a few videos to see our games in action! We had a fun day playing each others games! Students had 15 minutes to play and evaluate a game before moving onto another game. We spent two days playing games to make sure each game had three evaluations.

J's game was quit a hit as students had to solve math problems or do an activity depending on the square where they landed!

M chose a card telling him to sing the theme song from Frozen! It took him a few minutes to get up the courage, but he did it! Sort of...;)
