Support Raising: Lesson in Trust

When most people think of missionaries and support raising, they get scared! Talking with strangers, speaking in front of crowds, and bringing up financial needs! Perhaps not for the faint-hearted!

When I think of support raising, different thoughts come to my mind. I love making new connections and meeting new friends! With that comes new experiences! Tackling the mountain of support raising increases my faith and trust that God will provide for all of my needs! And He does! With each message of encouragement, family or individual that joins my ministry team, and heartfelt prayer, He re-affirms my calling that I am exactly where He wants me! I love my students, teaching math (and science this next year) and art, and the passionate teachers I get to work with on a daily basis. God has given me a passion for my students and this ministry of providing for the spiritual and academic needs of missionary students. Black Forest Academy continues to play a vital role in keeping parents of missionary students in the field where God has called them!

At times, support raising can seem demanding and I get scared too. Yet, am continually reminded that God is my provider. Even when I cannot see the future and how He will provide, I know He will....in His timing! I am learning to be content in His will whatever that holds for today.

I also feel so blessed to be a part of your lives! Praying for you and encouraging each of you in your ministries is a privilege! Thank you for sharing your stories and your hearts with me!

So, as I move forward, I am remembering that God has chosen me for this purpose at this time in my life. Below, I have shared a link to the song, Oceans. As we follow Christ whole-heartedly, He will lead us into a deeper relationship with Him and at the same time, deepen our faith and trust with mercy and grace.

"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give it to you."     ~ John 15:16
