Diving Into life overseas!

"Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4: 14, ESV) I was reminded today of the blessings and faith-growing that come when we dive into risking our lives for Christ! We can live a "safe" faith and He will let us, but can experience so much more adventure when we decide to risk everything for His sake! He is waiting for us to dive into a closer relationship with Him and has so much to share with us!

The desire to teach overseas in a Christian school has been swirling around for some time! If you were unaware, the pull to missions runs strong in my family and I grew up hearing stories from my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins living in Nepal. After graduating from Colorado Christian University, the desire to travel overseas became stronger and virtually unstoppable after experiencing the Perspectives course!

So, here I am following God's plan for my life at this moment in time. I have dived into life touching the lives of middle school students! Choosing to take risks for Christ means depending on Him so much more and growing closer spiritually! Living in another country does not mean I am immune from trials! Struggles abound as I learn how to pay bills and communicate needs in another language while making lesson plans for the classroom. Tasks take longer to complete in another culture and require extreme patience! Living the missionary life is hard. Financial support goes up and down, favorite foods and other "normal" purchases are harder to find and usually more expensive, friends are living their lives a world away, and there are new and different customs that seem alien. Missionary life is also very rewarding! The experiences are so rich with increased travel opportunities to countries that are now closer, new friends within the school and community (German friend has a green thumb and keeps giving me plants and food), new foods to try and love (Kale chips), and new customs to enjoy (No school on May Day- May pole dancing!!).

I am learning more and more about diving into my relationship with Christ and taking more risks as I follow Him! Steven Curtis Chapman's song Dive expresses the abundant blessings when we Dive in! I have pasted a link so you can listen! Thank you for all of your support; both through prayer and financial means! Because of you, missionary families are able to stay in the field around the world and their children are receiving an amazing education through Black Forest Academy! May God continue to bless you abundantly as you have blessed me!
