Every fall and spring, the middle school student leadership services plans a party. Students can come dressed as a character pertaining to the theme, play games, have fun and get to know each other better. This fall's theme was Medieval times and I am sharing some pictures along with some stories so you can feel a part of our school! Enjoy!
Above is another 5th grader who is attempting to shoot an arrow at a target. Ms. Custer is next!! Then me! Below is one of my 7th graders! Math is a huge struggle for him yet he does not give up!! I am so proud of his efforts to work hard and do well! He has been loving our hands-on 3-D projects in science!
These are most of the 7th grade girls! One of them asked me in a prayer request to pray they form a strong bond this year! That they would work well as a team, little girl drama and that no one would be left out.
Games played in the gym are a highlight! It seems every party starts with a game that has students racing across the gym floor throwing balls at each other! For every party, they come up with a new and creative name, yet the rules are essentially the same! The four boys above and below are 8th graders this year! I had them in my math class last year! They are a hoot...in case you can't tell! ;)
In my 7th grade class, I have three students who are rather creative and sign their papers as 'professor' or 'doctor'. The student above is a 'professor', but I am not sure of what...probably math.
Math has been a struggle for the student above as well. He is getting the support he needs through a tutor and I am really proud of him! Even though he is an active and crazy 7th grader, he still says "Thank you Ms. Ramse" as he walks out of class! Sweet kid!
Tracy, posing beside me, teaches math, science and history to the 6th graders this year and hails from Canada! This is her second year at BFA and she loves it! She is a queen and I am a pirate. I know a pirate is not exactly medieval, but as I only had what is offered in the drama closet at the high school, pirate it was! One of my students lent me a sword and the kids were impressed along with a few teachers with some of my "Jack Sparrow" interpretations!
And here is another one of my 'professors'!
This student is an 8th grader who is very talented on drums, plays for the middle school chapel team and loves eating healthy! Yes!
The two pictures above are of the same student, a 7th grader in my class! I love this kid! He is full of energy and weird crazy antics that at times make me crazy, but is really cute, so what can I do? His parents host Friday evenings for some of the single ladies and couples in the community. They invited me a few weeks ago and M was really excited for me to come. We had dinner, enjoyed each other's company and watched a fun movie.
School is a struggle for this one above as well. She loves her friends, sings on the chapel team and always shows up with a smile on her face! Some of her academic subjects including science and math can be difficult! She loved our sheep heart dissection last week though! Pictures coming soon!
At the end of the evening, everyone gathers in the cafeteria for snacks!
So, I had to try the archery as well! O helped me set it up and then I was set!
I even managed to hit the photographer twice! The first time was an accident! Boy, can I aim!
