Every year, the high school puts on a play or a musical. Last year their production was on Treasure Island. This year they performed Fiddler on the Roof and I was floored! Since this was a musical, the orchestra (BFA music department) was involved and did a phenomenal job! They even had a young lady playing her fiddle on the roof! Standing on a ladder behind the small house made her look like she was standing on the roof. One of my small group girls played one of the village girls along with grandmother Tzeitel in the dream. The dream was definitely my favorite scene! In my opinion, this is the best production I have seen put on by BFA! I could tell a LOT of work and effort and time was put into the music, roles, props and so much more! So, sit back and enjoy some moments from this weekend.
Tevye singing 'Tradition.'
The Mama's singing their role in 'Tradition.'
The daughters singing their role in 'Tradition.' One of my small group girls is in the middle.
Tevye and Lazar Wolf discussing Tevye's new little milk cow and marriage to Tevye's eldest daughter, Tzeitel.
An agreement was made so now we must dance! Similar to the Greeks I think. :)
Grandmother Tzeitel describing Tzeitel's marriage to the Tailer, Motel.
After the production, the actors came up two by two with a little dance and would bow before the audience while clapping.
Villagers sharing the rumor they heard about Tevye's family after Perchik had left for Kiev.
The best part of the dream! Fruma-Sarah (Lazar's departed wife) sings of her revenge on Tzeitel if she marries Lazar Wolf. The dream sequence was masterfully done with the drama and the singing was beautiful!
This was either the song about spreading the rumor or at the end before the villagers have to leave Anatevka.
And one final picture of one of my small group girls in the role of Grandmother Tzeitel! She did a marvelous job! She has a lovely voice! I love her heart for God and passion to follow Him!
I hope you enjoyed these moments!
