"Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning." Proverbs 9:9
My parents came for a visit and my dad and I spent some fun times attempting to acclimate with some cycling and hiking! We hiked in Rocky Mtn National Park last Saturday and we were both sucking in air! We were rather excited to be hiking in the mountains and accidentally took the wrong trail to Dream Lake. Still gorgeous! We hiked back down and got on the trail we originally wanted to Lake of Glass. We hiked up by the Loch, Sky Pond, up through a waterfall (really fun!!!) and found Lake of Glass above the waterfall. We had lunch, walked around the lake then saw some people jumping in! Why not?! We decided to cool off and jump in as well. I "made" him jump in first, then followed. Rather cold and the water almost takes your breath away! We sort swam out to the rock you see in the photo, sat down, realized the foolishness of warming up before jumping back in the frigid water, so jumped back in and returned to shore. Dad said the water renewed his energy as we had high-tailed it up there! It was fun to spend time with him and see God's beautiful creation at the same time! I definitely got his active genes! I spent Sunday afternoon with both mom and dad as we toured the Garden's on Spring Creek and Swetsville Zoo. Dad loved that as well! Sculptures in the Swetsville Zoo were created from old farm machinery, motorcycles, classic cars and other items. Think motorcycle gas tanks, rotor blades from old tractors, oil pans and so many more items I don't know about to create dinosaurs, large bugs (made from a Volkswagon Beetle), wind chimes, spiders and so much more! If you have not seen Swetsville Zoo, check it out!
Since returning to the States, I have been soaking up God's word and spending time in prayer for the many requests that are shared along with burdens God has spoken into my heart. Nancy Leigh DeMoss Wolgemuth from Revive Our Hearts began a short 6-week character study with David, Nabal and Abigail that I am loving! So many great truths as I look at the response of these three and past responses from myself in different situations.
I am really looking forward to all God will be teaching me this year as I attend Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) with my friends, begin my journey in a Master's program for Mathematics instruction and re-connecting with family, friends and dear supporters. I will be doing a bit of traveling around the States to visit with family, friends and share my ministry and financial goals with current and potential supporters.
I will be taking one class this fall which will give me an idea of the work load involved and time to meet up with supporters. I will plan on taking two classes during the Spring semester which will keep me a bit busier. I also plan to travel to the Midwest in the Spring or early Summer but do not have set plans as yet.
I will be in Portland, Oregon from September 1-11 and in Seattle for one weekend during that time (Sept 7-9). If you are in the area, I would love to see you! I plan to contact those I know are there and set up some appointments.
I will be in the Asheville, North Carolina area from November 2-7 and would love to connect with you if you are around!
I am continually amazed by how God continues to direct my life and providing this time for me to connect with you. I am so thankful I do not have to do the summer rush this time. ;)
If you are in the Colorado Front Range area and have time to meet up this fall, let's connect over tea or lunch! You can drink the coffee if so inclined. I would love to share with you some amazing stories from the past few years!
Thank you to all of you who continue to support me through prayer and finances!! I will continue to raise support this year as I plan to return to Germany at the end of next summer. Please continue to pray for divine appointments and that God would continue to provide for all my needs!
