Wreath Hunting and Making for Christmas!

I think it was my second year here when another teacher, Maria, brought greenery and mistletoe to school to give away. I remember bringing some home and creating an advent wreath with the greenery, mistletoe, 4 red candles in glass jars and had it all in a small wooden box. I had so much fun putting it together and really enjoyed my advent wreath!

This year, a friend of mine, Stephanie, came up with the great idea to hike out and find some greenery so we could create our own Christmas wreaths! Messerschmitt also wanted to come with, mainly for a ride on my shoulders! :) We have each filled a bag and plan to connect again in a few days to put our wreaths together. I am sharing a few photos here that Stephanie took today and will share more as we are constructing our wreaths in a few days! Stay tuned!

Stephanie and I met up last night to put our wreaths together! Stephanie checked out a few videos beforehand and even brough wire and dried fruit! We listened to some Christmas music, shared favorite Christmas memories and put our wreaths together. Messerschmitt investigated our supplies for quality and just kept an overall eye on the process.

Finished! I went for a green theme with some added ribbon, dried limes and dried green apples. Stephanie had greenery around her wreath with a few pinecones and some dried oranges. They both turned out fabulous! We tried to get Messerscmitt to pose but he just wanted to be let down so he could explore the stairwell...again. :)

  1. What fun and instead of a parrot you have a cat on your shoulder 😄

  2. Your cat is not going to know what to do without you when you leave. Maybe you need to bring him with although I know that would be extremely difficult. You treat that cat like it's a dog. Chopper really liked hanging out with Alvin and Josh. I'll bet Mittens would like your cat. Don't ask me to spell his name!!!
