How Creation points us to praise an Amazing Creator!

Isaiah 35:1-2 "The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall bloom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God."

Psalm 148:3-5 "Priase him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they were created."

When Ivy and I were hiking, we saw the beautiful wildflowers and were amazed at their beauty! They look so delicate and fragile yet live for a moment and were planted there by God for a purpose. We noticed as the wind gently blew through the grasslands, the grasses and flowers and even the Aspen leaves seemed to flutter or clap their hands in praise!

Isaiah 55:12 "For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."

God spoke creation into existence and intentionally created all that we see. He sustains the physical world and is sovereign over all creation.

Psalm 147:7-9 "Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry."

Yesterday, while worshipping, we sang, "Build my Life" and the lyrics, "Holy, there is no one like you" and "Open my eyes in wonder" made me think of the beauty and wonder of creation. The flowers that we see, while beautiful, are here today and gone tomorrow. It's a reminder that life is short and precious. And perhaps a reminder to begin each day praising our Lord and Saviour for what He has done for us! His death on the cross and resurrection to free us from the bondage of sin and to restore our relationship with God, our Father. Wow! How incredible! We can just stop here and marvel at His plan from early on in Genesis for our redemption!

I hope that if you are in Colorado, you will get a chance to get into the mountains to see some wildflowers in the next few weeks! If you live somewhere else, I hope you also get the chance to get out into nature to see the beauty of God's creation wherever you live and to marvel at his goodness, provision, and deep, deep love for you. Maybe even make a list of how He has provided for you recently!
