Eating Chocolate while Encouraging Spiritual Disciplines!

Recitation of Memory Verses equals good times!

Yesterday, I watched as students streamed into the indoor gym for Chapel. Chapel concludes the week at the Black Forest Academy Middle School. A worship team made up of Middle School students praised God through voice, piano and guitar with songs about Hope and we recited Biblical passages about Advent. 

Back by popular demand was Mr. Adams who has been a part of BFA for many years! He is also instrumental in connecting BFA students with local German students and planning joint mission trips. This spring, they will head to Romania with Habitat for Humanity to finish building a school.

Jay Adams handed out verses printed on paper cards and called on students to read out references while he recited the verse. Students also had a turn to recite verses and received a large chocolate bar when they finished! Chocolate bars were flying everywhere as students took turns reciting verses! You could hear the groans as we ran out of time and had to wrap up the Chapel service. I feel so blessed to be a part of BFA and am excited to experience other pieces of life here in the school and as a part of the Kandern community! Pray that God continues to move in the lives of students, teachers, and families here at BFA!
