Christmas in Germany!

These are pictures from the Ribeauville Christmas Market in France and yes, they did roast pig on a spit! It was delicious! The streets were so crowded, we could only move a few centimeters at a time! Being the third Christmas Market I have attended this season so far, I have a few favorite items. I enjoyed the succulent flavor of the brats, the spicy hot wine (Gruhwein or Vin Chaud if in France), fresh hot apple cider just off the press, homemade soaps, candles (even a lotus candle that opens while burning), traditional wooden tree decorations, wreaths, and yes, even the crammed streets! I attended with fellow staff members, Katrina, Ellen, Joy, Rachel, and several others from the middle school. I have been to the Christmas Market in Colmar, France (with Myriam:) and Freiburg, Germany with the middle school staff. The first Christmas Market is a little overwhelming, but after the second, they become addicting! Becoming proficient at Christmas Markets means a person can charge right through the crowds or rather meandering so cleverly through tiny spaces:)
