Spring Party 2016!

Each year, we have a Fall Party and a Spring Party. Our SLS (Student Leadership Services) students choose a theme and plan games, snacks and decorations. In the past, themes have been Disney characters (teachers dressed up as Disney villains), Science Fiction and Fantasy characters, favorite book characters, and many more. The theme for the Spring Party was Home Sweet Home. Students and teachers could dress up as their favorite character or theme. As you can see in the photos below, students were quite creative in their costumes! We began the night in the student center of the High School. One of the SLS students put together a Power Point presentation of baby pictures from the SLS students and teachers. Everyone was supposed to guess who which was fun:)

A few organized games in the gym were next where a common theme can be seen from every party. It seems we end up playing games where balls are thrown at students and a snake tag. They are always given a new creative name for each Spring or Fall party, yet we continue to play the same games. The kids don't seem to notice or care! They have a blast either way!

At this point, students are given a choice of what they would like to do next. They can stay in the gym to shoot hoops, play pillow fight (hilarious for teachers to watch!), or go through an obstacle course. Other options include board games in another area or a dance party in the auditorium. At the end, we all meet up again for snacks and drinks before students leave for the night.

I have some photos below that will show you some of the fun we had as we ran around in our costumes! I took a few videos as well of the pillow fights as they were hilarious! Enjoy!
